1S Memorable Experience - Dinosaur Videos
As part of our Topic - 'Jaws, Paws and Roars' we have been learning facts about dinosaurs. The children enjoyed watching fact videos and sharing all the facts they could remember as a class.
They then used these facts to create a 'Guess my dinosaur' game. They each wrote clues and drew their dinosaur in the inside of their game to lift and reveal the answer.
The children worked in groups to turn these into a video (which you can see below).
As part of our memorable experience we went to the hall with 1G to share our videos. We also took the opportunity to showcase our models that we have been working hard to make.
Take a look at the photos below to see the process of how we turned pieces of recycling into models of dinosaurs.
First the children did observational drawings of their chosen dinosaur.
Then they selected pieces of recycled materials. Using masking tape they stuck the pieces together.
Next came the paper laminating process to make the models sturdy and strong. The children used PVA glue mixed with water and strips of paper to cover their materials.
Finally they were able to add colour, texture and detail using paint and tissue paper.
The models look fantastic and you can really see the hard work that has been put into them!!
