We have had a lovely time celebrating all thing Autumnal.

Thank you for the pumpkin donations. We have used them for lots of mathematical concepts including size and weight comparisons, noticing skills and a thinking question- How many seeds are inside a pumpkin? We had lots of guesses and were amazed when we opened the pumpkins up and found too many to count! We discovered that there were lots of 10's and used our 10 frames to help us.

We also added some cinnamon to a pumpkin and had a taste of roasted pumpkin. Did you like it? Tell your family what you thought.

Well done to all the children and families for settling into school life so well! Keep reading and practising phonics and word games. This week we have been beginning to learn about rhyming words. Singing nursery rhymes is a great way to practise this skill.
