We represented how sedimentary rock is created. We used different types of biscuits and built up different layers to show the sediment building up (sedimentation). Then we squeezed the layers together, as they would be in real life over millions of years (compaction). We then stuck the layers together using a little water to show how minerals hold the sediment together (cementation). When we opened up our cups, we could see the different layers had been formed.
