This week, our nursery children have been diving into the wonderful world of textiles! We have been getting creative with fabrics, learning new words, and making some fantastic artwork.

One of our favorite activities was making patchwork elephants, inspired by the story Elmer! The children loved listening to the tale and discussing Elmer’s beautiful, multicoloured design. As we crafted our own patchwork elephants, we learned new words like multicoloured, patchwork, and waterproof.

We also carried out a fun science experiment to explore which materials are waterproof. The children tested different fabrics and discussed what we use various materials for in everyday life. It was a fantastic way to encourage curiosity and hands-on learning!

It’s been a brilliant week of creativity, discovery, and new vocabulary. We can’t wait to see what we’ll explore next!
