What a wonderful first week back we have had, celebrating Bonfire night and Diwali- the festival of light.

In Maths we made beautiful Rangoli patterns. We used lots of mathematical concepts such as matching, patterns, symmetry and counting.

‍

We have been developing our handwriting skills by making large movements with ribbons, creating fireworks pictures on a large scale and launching our own rockets into the sky! Using large arm movements from the shoulder is very important for developing good pen control later on.

‍

In phonics we learnt the letters o, c, k and their phonemes (sounds). Can you show your family the actions? We have also been making firework sounds with our mouths and bodies.

We also learnt a new song.
