Welcome to another exciting week of learning in Turtle Class! This week, we’re diving into the classic storybook "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?" by Bill Martin Jr. and Eric Carle. It’s the perfect tale to explore the wonderful world of colors while sparking imaginations and love for books.

We set up a variety of colored toys, blocks, and buttons for the children to sort into matching colours. They enjoyed picking up objects and placing them in the correct group, helping reinforce their understanding of colours. Each child had the opportunity to paint their own rainbow using vibrant colours like red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple. They practised holding their brushes, dipping them in the right colour, and applying it in arcs across the paper. The results were stunning!

At Home, why not...

  • Read Together: Revisit "Brown Bear, Brown Bear" at home, encouraging your child to help name the colors and animals.
  • Color Hunt: Go on a color hunt around the house or park. Can you find something brown like the bear or red like the bird?
  • Create a Color Collage: Gather items of different colors to create a colorful collage, just like the animals in the book!
