Today, we went to the Old Vic theatre to listen to Kwame Alexander talk about writing, poetry and his life.

He told us about how his love for reading developed and how he started writing poetry. He also talked to us about the rejections that he had experienced and how he kept on trying, even when he heard 'no'. We were able to ask him questions about his books, his inspirations, black history and about meeting Lebron James!

We all received a copy of his book The Crossover as we left the theatre.

Afterwards, we had our lunch and a play in an amazing playground!
