Autumn Walk

We went on an autumn walk. We got ready by writing some class rules for the walk. Then we made predictions based on our 5 senses. We thought about what we might see, hear, feel, smell, or taste. We talked about how to keep ourselves and each other safe. We decided it was best to only taste the air!

We walked sensibly in pairs, with some friends from year 6 to help us.

We saw crows, pigeons, dogs, parakeets, magpies, moorhens, ducks, spiders, and a rat!

We felt the warm sunshine and the cool breeze on our faces. We felt the rough bark of a tree with our hands.

We smelt the tree bark, the damp leaves, and the fresh air.

We heard trains, birds, dogs, children playing, bicycles, and the river.

We tasted the cool damp air.

Well done for being so sensible and for being such great scientists 1B.

We'll go back for a winter walk soon, to see what has changed in the park.
