Tiday, Year 6 had the exciting opportunity to meet local artist and past Holbeach pupil, Cai Arfon Bellis, to learn more about the community mural currently under construction. Seeing the artwork take shape up close was a fantastic experience, and the children loved having the chance to ask questions about the creative process, Cai's inspirations and what it is like to work on such a large-scale project.

The visit helped the children feel part of something special within the local community. Now, whenever they pass the finished mural, they will know the story behind it and remember the day they met the artist who created it. We know these memories will stay with them for many years to come.

Cai's passion for art was truly inspiring. Following the visit, there was a huge rush of children asking for paper to take home so they could continue drawing and sketching in their own time. It was wonderful to see so much enthusiasm and creativity sparked by the experience.

We are looking forward to welcoming Cai back to Holbeach in January, when he will be able to celebrate the children's own artistic achievements.

Thank you, Cai, for sharing your time, talent and creativity with us. We can't wait to see the finished mural!🎨✨
