Wow! What a busy week we have had in Turtle class. The children are settling really well and getting used to the new routines. We made some class rules which we all agreed to try and follow. Our rules are:

Be kind, tidy up together, listen to eachother and the adults, share, take turns and wait your turn and walking feet inside the classroom.

I am so proud of you all!

We have been learning how to sign 'turtle' using Makaton. Ask you children to show you.

This week we have been continuing with the rhyme, If you are happy and you know it. Turtle class have been singing it loud, quiet, in funny voices and with our class puppet Angel, who got the actions wrong. We also discussed and demonstrated what our faces and bodies would look like with other emotions.

Our story of the week was Colour monster goes to school. This has been a big hit, with the children then re telling the story through their play.

Tuesday was Afro hair day, we spoke about how special and unique all hair was and we had a fun day making crazy hair, cutting hairstyles, using playdough to make hair, washing babies hair and visiting the barbers.

Wednesday we were lucky enough to join in with a drama workshop and become superheroes and save the planet! the children seemed to really enjoy this with some saying "this is the best thing ever!!"

Just a gentle reminder that we are still waiting for family photos. Next week we plan to share the photos during our circle time which is a great opportunity for the children to continue developing their language skills.
