To prepare for writing our own instructions, Year 6 rolled up their sleeves and were busy making jam sandwiches this week! 🍓🥪 By following a set of instructions we discovered just how important it is to read carefully and pay attention to every detail. The activity helped us think about what makes instructions clear and easy to follow. We spotted imperititve verbs, discussed the importance of putting steps in the right order and realised that even something as simple as making a sandwich can go wrong if instructions are not precise. We are now ready to put these skills to good use when we write our own instructions for a much trickier task... mummifying a fish like the Ancient Egyptians!
