4A are Scientists

Our science topic this term is 'States of Matter'. We have been learning about the properties of solids, liquids and gases.
This week, we did an experiment to answer the question 'How does temperature affect the rate of melting?' Each table set up two beakers, one with with warm water and one with cold water, then placed an ice cube into each beaker. We timed how long it took for the ice cubes to melt and recorded our data. We did have an anomaly in the class due to an one extremely large ice cube but proved that ice cubes melted much more quickly in warm water than in cold water. We worked hard to present our findings neatly bar charts.
