This Term our topic has been 'Let's be Farmers'. Over this term, we have been working hard in rain or shine (there has been plenty of heat!), to care for our garden outside. We have been learning all about what plants need to grow as well as the parts of a plant and how to care for them. To celebrate all of the care and hard work that has gone into our garden we invited our parents in for a tour of the garden and to take part in some garden themed activities. These included:

A sensory herb hunt, labelling a worm and looking at the wormery as well as reading zig zag books the children made with all the different plants we have grown. The garden looks fantastic and it has quickly turned into a favourite place of ours. The children have enjoyed, planting, watering, removing weeds, thinning the beds and most importantly watching the garden grow!

We are so pleased we have been able to share our work with our parents! We have also heard lots of stories this term about things that the children are growing at home, perhaps we are inspiring the next generation of keen gardeners?

Thank you so much for your continued support with your child's learning, there was a buzz of excitement in the classroom. What a wonderful way to remember Year 1 as we are coming towards the end of the school Year.
