Pebble Class have been crossing off the days on our calendar until the half term break next week. Both Lunar New Year and Shrove Tuesday (Pancake Day!) will be happening in half term so we learned about these. We made lanterns for Lunar New Year and made (and ate) delicious pancakes for Pancake Day. We will also be learning about Valentine's Day tomorrow!

We read a story called 'Mr Wolf's Pancakes' by Jan Fearnley which includes many of the traditional tale characters we have been reading about!

One of our friends in Pebble Class cooked chips at home following the recipe we made in class and brought them to school to share. We heated them in our oven and enjoyed them together. Please feel free to send in photos of your child cooking at home so we can celebrate this in class. The children are so proud to talk about their lives at home and what they like to do.

In Phonics we have been learning 'igh' in 'light' and 'oa' in 'coat'.

In Maths we have been having fun finding lots of ways of making 7 such as 2 and 2 and 2 and 1. We know 2 and 2 makes 4. Then 2 more makes 6. And 1 more makes 7! Can you show different ways at home using objects or toys?
