In our English lessons, we’ve been exploring verbs and adverbs—two essential building blocks for creating vivid and engaging sentences. Before putting pen to paper, we warmed up with a fun and interactive activity that sparked creativity and collaboration.

Students paired up for a quick game. One child performed an action, while their partner carefully observed and described what was happening. From jumping energetically to walking slowly or laughing loudly, each action became an opportunity to experiment with expressive language.

This simple exercise encouraged students to think beyond basic descriptions and use adverbs to add detail and depth. It also helped them become more aware of how verbs and adverbs work together to paint a clearer picture for the reader.

By the time we began writing, the classroom was buzzing with ideas. The activity not only built confidence but also inspired students to craft more descriptive and engaging sentences—turning ordinary writing into something truly beautiful.
