Pebble Class has been waiting for the delivery of our new carpet! It is perfect! We said goodbye to the butterflies, bees, snails, caterpillars and ladybirds on our bright blue carpet and said hello to our calm pebble carpet.

In Phonics we have been learning 'ai' for 'r-ai-n' and 'ee' for 'f-ee-t'. These sounds are perfect for this week as we have had so much rain and we must remember to wipe our feet to keep our new carpet clean!

In Maths we rolled dice and collected that number of gems. We recorded the amounts in different ways on our whiteboards.

Our topic this week has been traditional tales such as Goldilocks and the Three Bears, Little Red Riding Hood, The Three Little Pigs and Three Billy Goats Gruff. We discussed the characters, settings, plot, the problem and resolution of each story and the lessons that they teach us.

The Reception Playground has a new mud kitchen area which the children have enjoyed digging in and cooking up lots of delicious dinners!
