Pebble class has continued to explore pumpkins this week! We compared the pumpkins by size and weight and carried them to feel which were heavier and which were lighter. We practised our fine motor skills by sticking the pumpkins full of pins in different colour patterns and creating shapes with elastic bands. We made pumpkin soup and thought carefully about each step and wrote recipes to create our own Pebble class cookbook. We read Pumpkin Soup by Helen Cooper.

We also enjoyed reading Foggy Foggy Forest by Nick Sherrat and made our own foggy pictures using tracing paper to make our own class book.

Reception has started our formal Phonics lessons this week and learned about the sounds: ‘s’, ‘a’ and ‘t’. Please look for their new home learning books in their bookbags next week and use these to practise writing sounds and words.
