Pebble Class learned more about Lunar New Year this week. Ms Lo visited us to teach us all about how Lunar New Year is celebrated and to teach us a game with a special ball made with feathers! We enjoyed trying to kick it into the air! We also used chopsticks to eat noodles and also to pick up pompoms and wool. Some children had gone to see the Lunar New Year parade during half term with their families and one of our friends brought his beautiful dragon, drum and decoration to show us.

Pebble Class read The Magic Paintbrush by Julia Donaldson and Joel Stewart. We created our own drawings of things we would like to come to life and used our phonic sounds to write about it. We used our imaginations and had great fun pretending!

Two exciting new things in Pebble Class this week are our marble run and our busy books. The cyclone marble run was donated by a parent and the children have loved exploring it in groups with a 10 minute timer. They know there are 20 marbles and 10 red ramps at tidy up time so we don't lose any small pieces. The busy books are for the children to practise their phonics and letter formation independently during choosing time.

This week we have learned 'oo' in 'moon' and 'book' and 'ar' in 'car'. In Maths we have explored odd and even numbers.
