Pebble Class explored space by making rockets, glitter bottles and painting pictures of our beautiful planet earth and our own special star, the sun! We used Google Earth to find Holbeach School and blasted out of the chimney, just like Baby Bear in the story, "Whatever Next" by Jill Murphy. We looked back at earth and saw it looks blue, green, white and brown from space. Do you remember why there is so much blue?

We learned that planet Earth is the only planet we know of with liquid water. This is because we are the perfect distance from the sun. Any closer and the water would dry up, any further and it would freeze into ice. This liquid water is what makes life possible for us and all the plants and animals. The video here can be watched a little at a time. The images are beautiful! We hope you enjoy watching it with your child.

Next week we will explore more planets!

In Phonics we have learned the sounds 'p', 'i' and 'n' and are learning to read words by saying each sound (phoneme) and blending them together. Please listen to your child read to you from their phonic books and practise writing the letters (graphemes) in their home learning books.

We have started practising for our Christmas Performance. It will be on Tuesday, 2 December at 2pm. We hope you all will come and see our very First Nativity!
