This week in 1S we have been learning about fossils. We have thought about the tools that we would need and done some wonderful writing about it in English:

"I will need a chisel to break the rock."

"I will need a brush to brush off the sand." 

"I will need a measuring tape to see if the fossil is long or short." 

What else would you include in your fossil hunters kit? Can you tell someone at home what you need and why?

Then we made our own fossils to go in a museum. This morning we talked about the purpose of a museum and wrote some rules. This afternoon we made our own fossils out of salt dough. We followed the recipe as a group and then created ammonites, other fossils and dinosaur bones! We will be displaying them in a class museum.
